This month on The Modern Recordist, we’re putting out only episodes of The Producer’s Notes, and focusing on the topic of recording drums.
For this edition of The Producer’s Notes, I pulled another mic technique from my Recording Drums 101 resource-The Recorderman drum mic technique.
This is a very popular and simple drum mic technique that uses only two microphones to record the entire drum kit. And it captures all the nuances of the drums quite well!
To read more about this setup, as well as a bunch of other simple yet first rate drum microphone techniques, check out the free resource I put together, Recording Drums 101: A Home Studio Guide For Pro Sounding Drums
There’s further explanations on getting great sounds, pictures, and even some sound examples.
While on this page, make sure you sign up to my email list using any of the forms on the page. I’ll send you tons more tips on recording, mixing, producing, songwriting, musicianship, and even some thoughts on reaching your peak creative potential.
